Funeral services will be held for JoAnn Goodgion, 81, of Roswell, at 5 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home Chapel with Cecil Kimberlin officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at Miles Cemetery, Miles, Texas, with Chaplain Ellen King officiating. She passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, in Lubbock. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, from 12 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, from 8 a.m., until service time at the funeral home.
JoAnn was born July 31, 1931, to Edward and Lilly (Pyron) Edwards in Anson, Texas. She loved to sew, was a seamtress, a very good cook, caregiver, and loved to babysit and take care of children, always putting everyone else in front of herself.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband T.Z. Goodgion, of the family home; her sons, Rick Goodgion and Kent Goodgion, both of Carlsbad, and Randall Goodgion and his wife Judy, of Miles; her daughter Annyce Brauch and her husband Steve, of Key West, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother Billy Wayne Edwards and his wife Sara, of O’Donnell, Texas; and sister Lucy Palmer, of Hobbs. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Lilly Edwards; her brothers, Leon Edwards and Johnny Edwards; her sisters, Tommie “Sissy” Edwards and Martha Todd.
Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons.
