ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — The Albuquerque Police Department says one of its officers is on administrative leave after he was accused of encouraging a man to fight to settle his differences with a [auth] neighbor.

Spokeswoman Officer Tasia Martinez says Officer Gregory Donofrio will remain on leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation. Donofrio has worked for the department since January 2006.

On Sunday, officers were dispatched to an apartment complex to investigate an altercation. The caller told officers that he had fought with his neighbor earlier in the morning and alleged that an Albuquerque police officer had encouraged the two to fight it out to settle their ongoing dispute.
