It is with great sadness that our family has to announce the passing of our son and brother, Brian W. Barnhill. Brian died very peacefully Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at the age of 60. He had been hospitalized for the last couple of months battling the late stages of liver and kidney failure.
Brian grew up in Roswell and attended local schools, graduating from NMMI in 1969. Brian loved his family and friends, was a [auth] hard worker, loved the outdoors, his motorcycles, skiing, was kind and generous to his fellow man, and particularly loved animals. He will be missed by all who really knew him. Brian never lost his wonderful sense of humor, joking on his death bed that he had not seen any white light yet.
Brian is survived by his mother Mrs. William B. Barnhill; brother Clayton Barnhill, wife Jeannine, and nephew Ethan; brother W. Chris Barnhill, wife Donna, niece and nephew Kylie and Brennan; nephew Jeremy Childs and wife Vanessa, children Hayden and Jordan; nephew Elijah Anderson, wife Stephanie, and child Wyatt, and nephew Nathan Childs. He is also survived by his beloved companions and dogs, Braveheart, Azure, Sassy, and Mia.
Brian was preceded in death by his father William B. Barnhill, sister Elisha Anderson, both sets of grandparents, aunt Francis Sherlin, aunt Gloria Wright, and uncle Clayton Barnhill. He was also preceded in death by his beloved cat Bella.
The family would like to thank Origins Recovery Center, of South Padre Island Texas, Valley Baptist Medical Center, and Valley Grand Manor, both located in Brownsville, Texas, for the care they gave Brian the last few months. As per Brian’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will take place at a later date. May he rest in peace.
