Funeral services will be held for Voy Turpen, 61, of Hagerman, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in Hagerman Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. He passed away on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012.
Voy was born Feb. 3, 1951, to Elmer and Mildred Turpen in Hagerman. Voy worked as an LPN in the medical field for many years, before being disabled. He served on a Navy Destroyer during the Vietnam Conflict. He lived his whole life in the Pecos Valley. Voy liked to hunt, fish and enjoyed the great outdoors, dance and just have a good time.
Voy is survived by his brother Troy Turpen of Dexter; his sister Linda Howard, of Las Cruces; his brother Ronny Turpen, of Dear Park, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother.
