A memorial service for Douglas Claude Haynes, 70, of Roswell, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home Chapel with Cecil Kimberlin officiating. Doug passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012. Family viewing will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, from 8 to 10 a.m., with public viewing from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Doug was born March 8, 1942, to Archie “Speedy” and Ellen Dean Haynes, in Hobbs, at Dr. Kennedy’s clinic. He was the second of four children, growing up in Monument, at the HAT Ranch. Doug graduated from Hobbs High School and went to NMSU in Las Cruces, and ENMU in Portales. He served our country as a sergeant in the National Guard from Dec. 12, 1963 to May 27, 1967. Following his service, Doug held several jobs in the oilfield, retiring from Phillips Petroleum in 1999 as superintendent of the Andrews, Texas, area. From 1999 until the present date, Doug was the owner of Ruidoso Septic Service, a business started by his brother Bruce Haynes.
Doug is survived by his mother Dean Haynes, of Ruidoso; three siblings, Carolyn Dean Mathis, of Mathis, Texas, Bruce Gene Haynes, of Ruidoso Downs, and Kenneth Bryan Haynes, of Ruidoso; three children, Danny R. Haynes, of Capitan, Devene Haynes, of Roswell, and Tomi Lene’t Haynes, of Roswell; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father “Speedy” Haynes, Chez’Ren’e Haynes and his grandson, Michael Christopher Cannon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Doug’s grandsons, Dusty Wayne Haynes, Johnny Wayne Douglas, Drew Douglas Haynes, Shaye William Brister, Rusty Waylon Davila and Cade Samuel Haynes.
