Toys For Tots – US Marine Corps Reserve
The Local Toys for Tots drive starts October 1st for the 2012 Holiday Season. With a larger than ever expectation of meeting the demands of our local community children, the local Toys for Tots campaign is expecting to do whatever it takes to meet the challenge.
In 2010 the Marines and volunteers from throughout the nation distributed over 16.7 million toys to over 7.2 million less-fortunate children.
The Toys for Tots Foundation, headquartered in Triangle, Virginia spent over $40 million on toys to supplement over 714 local community campaigns nationwide, including our local toy drive right here in Roswell.
Our local campaign here in Roswell was also the most successful on record. We were able to collect sufficient toy donations from our local communities to impact over 2,000 children from here in Roswell all the way to Artesia and every community in between.
This year we are asking each person in our community to join with the Marines and volunteers to help us make the local Toys for Tots campaign a continued success. All local donations stay within the community that they are collected from and go directly to make a difference in our local children’s lives.
To receive a shiny new toy during the holidays can mean the difference in the fulfilled dreams and hopes of our children now and into the future.
Won’t you consider helping the Marines successfully accomplish another mission? The mission is making a difference to those here at home.
Please look for the Toys for Tots donations boxes all over town. If you would like to display a box at your business or organization, please contact Don Hunter at 575-623-0803 or 420-9975, or contact Jim Bloodhart at 625-5524.
