CLOVIS — Fred Olivares, 60, of Clovis, passed away Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at his home. Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at 9 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe with the Rev. Sotero Sena officiating. Burial will follow in [auth] Mission Gardens of Memories.
Fred was born Feb. 11, 1952, to Jose and Thomasa (Ramirez) Olivares, in Roswell. He married Ernestine Mandonado Nov. 22, 1971, in Roswell, and they moved to Clovis in 1979. He worked as an auto mechanic.
Survivors include his wife Ernestine Olivares, of the home; daughter Lorina (Jimmy) Olivares-Gonzales, of Clovis, NM; son Manuel Olivares, of Clovis; five brothers, Andres Olivares, of Houston, Jose Olivares, of Roswell, Robert (Rose) Olivares, of Levelland, Texas, and Chonito Olivares and Stevie Olivares, both of Wichita, Kan.; four sisters, Josephine (Mark) Young, Alice (Pete) Chawk, both of Wichita, and Grace (Tim) Simon and Tommie (Scott) Hensler, both of Kansas; and two grandchildren, Bryanna Olivares and Joshua Olivares. He was preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer Olivares; grandson AJ Lomas; brother Manuel Olivares; and his parents.
