Alcoholics Anonymous; teaching workshop focuses on art, writing

Are you feeling pain, heartache, etc., because of alcohol use by a loved one or friend? Brown Baggers Al-Anon might just be for you. Meetings are every Friday, 12-1 p.m., at First United Methodist Church, 200 N. Pennsylvania Ave., room 111.

Teaching Workshops
There will be art and writing workshops this Saturday, Oct. 20, from 9 [auth] a.m.-4 p.m. at the Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art. Fellows of the High Plains Writing Project will share exemplar lessons geared toward the standards of the New Mexico Common Core.

Founders Day
Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumni will meet Saturday, Oct. 20, at 11:30 a.m. at the Roswell Country Club for Founders Day. For more information, contact 623-8577.

Astronomy Club
There will be a Moon Gaze Saturday, Oct. 20, an hour and a half before sunset, at Cielo Grande Park. For more information call Peg at 420-9955.

Piano Concert
First United Methodist Church will present Romayne Wheeler, “The Pianist of the Sierra Madre,” on Sunday, Oct. 21, at 3 p.m. at the church, 200 N. Pennsylvania Ave. The recital will benefit the Tarahumara Indians of Mexico’s Sierra Madre, struck by drought and terrible famine. Donations are greatly appreciated.

Alzheimer’s Assoc.
The Alzheimer’s Association Caregiver Support Group will meet at Mission Arch Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 4 p.m. For more information please contact Priscilla Lujan at 624-1552.
