Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Lagrone Funeral Chapel for Jewel Isaacs, 88, who passed away Oct. 13, 2012, at Mission Arch Care Center.
Harold Hobson will officiate and burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.
Jewel Edith Estes was born in Henrietta, Texas, Feb. 22, 1924, to Fred and Esta Estes. She grew up as a neighbor to her husband-to-be Russell [auth] Isaacs. They were married April 8, 1943, in El Paso, Texas, while Russell was serving in the Army Air Force.
They had a daughter Alice and a son Tommy who was tragically killed in a car accident in 1962.
They moved to Roswell in 1947. She was employed by Roswell Lumber Yard for many years and later for Spencer Mortgage.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Russell in 2001; son Tommy; brothers, Everett, Floyd, Robert and sister Lillie. She is survived by one sister Imogene Carrollton of Lucas, Texas. She is also survived by her daughter Alice Ratliff and husband Mack of Roswell, her grandchildren Keith Ratliff and wife Tonia and Robin French and husband Jim, all of Alamogordo.
Her great-grandchildren are Kyle McCracken of Las Cruces, Kayla McCracken of Las Cruces and Jesslyn Ratliff of Littleton, Colo.
She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church.
Pallbearers will be Tony Isaacs, Terry Isaacs, Keith Ratliff, Bob Ratliff, Kyle McCracken and Mack Ratliff.
