ALBUQUERQUE — Donald Thurman Prince Sr., beloved father [auth] and grandfather, passed on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque.
He proudly served his country first by joining the U.S. Air Force as airman first class. He then joined the U.S. Navy Special Forces, and Navy Seals as an underwater demolition expert for three years, until he was severely injured. He left the armed forces a highly decorated veteran receiving 16 commendations including the Purple Heart. He also served as a patrol officer for the Clovis Police Department from 1963-1969.
He was preceded in death by his wife Susan Prince; three of his children, Richard, Pamela, and Donald Prince Jr.; and his grandson Bryan Minton. He is survived by the mother of his children and first wife Patsy Prince; his daughters Jackie Teal and her husband Jim Teal, Regina Minton, Shiloh Molina and her husband Christopher Molina, and Ashlee Prince; and his son Michael Prince. He had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who will miss him dearly.
