Man found dead in home near Silver City identified

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Authorities say a man found dead near Silver City has been identified.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says 22-year-old Josiah Roybal [auth] was discovered inside a home Sunday in Arenas Valley.

He reportedly was dead at the scene.

KOB-TV ( says authorities responding to a “shots fired” call found Roybal’s body and another man injured.

He’s been identified as 27-year-old Andy Padilla.

Padilla was taken to Gila Regional Medical Center and later airlifted to an undisclosed hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

There’s no immediate word on how Roybal died.
