Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at South Park Cemetery, for Marretta Lee Parker, 79, who passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012, at Mission Arch Care Center. Chaplin Cecil Kimberlin of Vista Care will officiate.
Marretta was born Aug. 3, 1932, in Duncan, Okla., to Thomas Lee Towler and Clamie Leeosia Hooser. Her parents preceded her in death. Marretta married Jay William Parker on Sept. 8, 1947, in Carlsbad. He preceded her in death on Aug. 19, 1980. Marretta was also preceded in death by her daughter Peggy Sue Parker; granddaughters, Amanda Parker and Rebecca Mendoza; grandson Jimmy Parker Jr.; great-grandson Hayden Parker; and her sister Neva Dove.
Marretta is survived by her sons, Jimmy Parker and wife Linda, of Roswell, Larry Parker and wife Sue, of Houston, Billy Parker, of Roswell, Tommy Parker and wife Vicki, of Roswell, and Ronnie Parker and wife Joyce, of South Carolina; daughter Betty Hall, of Roswell; sisters, Jean Bristow, Johnnie Wright, Wanda Lane, Estelle Russell, Louella Stevens, Wannnema White and Oletta Mask; grandchildren, Jerrie Besing, Jay Parker, John Parker, Jason Parker, Billy Parker, Bobby Parker, Nick Parker, Amos Parker, Larry Parker, Heath Parker, Ben Parker and Andrea Cruz; 27 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers are John Parker, Jason Parker, Jay Parker, John Besing, Manuel Payne and P.J. Raymer. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Parker Jr., Bobby Parker, Nick Parker and Amos Parker.
