John Earl George, 62, of Roswell passed away July 12, 2012, at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.
A pot-luck memorial celebration will be held Friday, July 20, 2012, from 2 to 5 p.m., at Church on the Move in the Oneighty building, with the Rev. Savino Sanchez officiating. Please bring your favorite food dish to this memorial celebration to help celebrate our dad’s life.
John was born in Roswell, on March 23, 1950, to Floyd T. and Lola Jewel George. John was a carpenter for NMMI for many years. John was a great dad and grandfather who loved his family very much, and a sportsman who loved the great outdoors especially, hunting and fishing. He was also a hard worker, had a sense of humor, loved spending time with children, enjoyed adventures and having fun.
John is survived by a daughter Melissa and her husband Paul Duran, of Roswell; one son John F. George, of Roswell; a stepdaughter Anne Laura Patterson, of Albuquerque; a stepson Coley Walter Patterson, of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Helen Cockrum and Patty George, both of Roswell; four grandsons, Shawn Duran, Shane Duran, Shaye Duran and Cameron Patterson; two granddaughters, Crystil N. Rosas and Nicole Lynn Gallegos; one great-grandson Kevin P. Duran, two great-granddaughters, Kiara and Xylena Gallegos, all of Roswell. John is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by five brothers, one sister, his parents and his brother-in-law Floyd Cockrum.
Honorary pallbearers will be John F. George, Paul Duran, Shawn P. Duran, Shane G. Duran, Shaye C. Duran, Kevin P. Duran and Crystil N. Rosas.
