Burglary in progress stopped; handgun taken from vehicle

•Police were dispatched to the 900 block of Norris Place, Saturday, on a report of a burglary in progress. The victims stated that they had been drinking with the subject earlier in the day, and he separated. He arrived later at their residence and tried to kick the door [auth] in. The suspect was caught and arrested.

•Police responded to Three Crosses Drive, Saturday, after subjects gained entry into a vehicle and took an American Tactical model 1911 .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun from the vehicle. There were no signs of forced entry.


Police were called to Deborah Place, Saturday, after a man discovered that someone had stolen his American flag and flagpole from his yard.

Criminal damage

•Police were called to Budget Inn, 2101 N. Main St., Sunday. The victim reported that someone broke the rear window to her van, valued at $350.

•Police responded to Imagine That, 317 N. Main St., Saturday, where subjects broke the front window to the store, valued at $500.
