RPD arrests Stripes burglary suspect, shots fired on Tulane Dr.

Police responded to an audible alarm at Stripes, 611 S. Main St., Tuesday. Just as officers arrived at t[auth] he scene, a motorcycle pulled away, traveling at a high speed. One officer went in pursuit, as the second contacted the manager and checked the damages to the building. The patrol unit followed the suspect until he crashed at Virginia Avenue and College Boulevard. He was uninjured. There were two bottles of alcohol at the crash site. A review of the surveillance video revealed a resemblance between the subject on the motorcycle and the suspect. He was arrested on charges of burglary and aggravated DUI.

Shots fired

Police were called to the 1400 block of Tulane Drive, Tuesday. The victim reported hearing gunfire and then later noted damage to the fence. Officials examined the area and confirmed the holes found in the fence were consistent with bullet holes.


Police were dispatched to the 700 block of North Mississippi Avenue, Tuesday, after subjects removed a homemade trailer, an S&S motorcycle motor and a Harley Davidson frame. The missing items were valued at $2,400.
