Eastern New Mexico Medical Center is pleased to welcome the Pegasus Emergency Group (PEG). Pegasus Emergency Group embraces collaborative, open-minded communication with Administration, Nursing, EMS leaders, and Medical Staff in order to assess performance and establish goals. Pegasus has a history of increased appropriate admissions and resource utilization at all of its locations. With patient satisfaction and community involvement at the top of their priorities, Pegasus is a true asset to ENMMC and the citizens of Roswell.

With strong medical directorship at the helm of each Emergency Department- as with all Pegasus EDs-the chief goals will be to further enhance quality care, patient satisfaction and safety, and continue to make process improvements in collaboration with the ED team. ENMMC has strong service, quality and satisfaction programs in place, and Pegasus ED physicians will participate in the initiatives, including [auth] 30-minute rounding in reception areas, callbacks to discharged patients , and process improvements to help ensure that a provider initially sees every patient in 30 minutes or less. In addition, ENMMC’s Emergency Department is also Trauma Certified and Chest Pain Accredited. ENMMC enjoys a robust relationships within the community and has rich menus of community education, health fairs, speakers’ bureaus and affinity groups such as Senior Circle and Healthy Woman designed to promote healthy lifestyles.

Pegasus Physicians participate and often speak on health topics for these groups. It is a priority for Pegasus to place top physicians in each Emergency Department who share this same dedication to the hospital’s patients and neighbors.

Member of the Pegasus group include:

Jeffery Ruzich, MD –  is a founding member of the Pegasus Emergency Group and an acting Vice President.  He was the Director at Setson Health in the Albany, NY area for 8 years and has come to Roswell as a Regional Director for the southwest.  He trained at Albert Einstein Medical Center in the Bronx where he was also teaching attending for a decade after his training.  He is extremely pleased to find himself living in Roswell becoming an active member of the Roswell community and NM at large.

Tom Wulf, MD – has lived in Roswell for 6 years and has been the assistant Director at the Family Practice Residency at ENMMC.  He has joined the Pegasus team full-time in order to pursue his passion in emergency medicine.  He has a background both as a civilian paramedic and as a paramedic in the military.  He is currently the Medical Director of the Roswell Fire Department.

Natalie Murta, DO – comes to Roswell after recently having been a Director at Integris Mayes County Medical Center, Pryor, Oklahoma.  She will be joining the Pegasus team full-time in southeastern New Mexico in late 2012.  She is Residency trained and Board Certified in Emergency from the Medicine Oklahoma University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Homero Renteria, MD – received his family practice degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, Texas.  He has been practicing Emergency medicine for 5 years and is also an active member of the Roswell community and is working full-time and has joined the Pegasus Emergency Medicine team as a full-time member.

Philip Murta, DO – has joined the Pegasus Emergency Group from Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  He and his wife, Natalie, are anxious to become a part of the New Mexico community and will be relocating to the region in the very near future.  He received his training in Emergency Medicine at Tulsa Regional Medical Center.

Kristen Osiecki, DO – is Residency trained Board Certified in Emergency Medicine from Albert Einstein Medical Center.  For the past 10 years she has been practicing Emergency Medicine at Mountain Vista Medical Center, Mesa, AZ.  She has joined the Pegasus Emergency team and has brought her skills to the Roswell area.

Robert Melanson, PA – has been a supervising mid-level with the Pegasus Emergency Group since 2002.  He has moved to the Roswell community to oversee mid-level coverage throughout the southwestern region.  He was trained at the University of New York, Albany.

Jason Pope, MD – Dr. Jason Pope is a long term Roswell resident and he and his family reside within the Roswell community.  He completed his residency at ENMMC and was excited to practice emergency medicine in this Emergency department.  He has become an important part of the Express Care process within the Emergency department.

Carrie Flury, PA –  currently works at La Familia.  She has numerous hours of Emergency Medicine experience and also lives within the Roswell community.  Pegasus is very happy to have her participate within the Emergency department helping to expedite patients through express care.

Carol Holland, NP – received her Nursing Practitioner at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM.  She has worked in the emergency department for a number of years and is also active member residing within the Roswell community.

Eastern New Mexico Medical Center is a 162-bed acute care hospital guided by a mission to be a great place for employees to work, physicians to practice, and patients to receive compassionate and quality care.  In addition to emergency services and medical and surgical care, the hospital provides specialty services including invasive cardiology, cancer treatment, women’s services, rehabilitation, mental health services and advanced diagnostic imaging.  ENMMC’s community outreach includes a Senior Circle Chapter and Healthy Woman program.  ENMMC is fully accredited by The Joint Commission and is an Accredited Chest Pain Center.
