Marlo J. Julian, aka Gabriel Galvan, 54, of Roswell, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012, in Lubbock, Texas, at University Medical Center.
Marlo was born May 28, 1958, in Ventura, Calif., to Daniel and Lupe (Provenico) Galvan. He had been married to Cindy Ford for 14 years.
Honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1977, Marlo went to work as an automobile mechanic.
He will be remembered as a sweet, kind and loving person. Marlo was passionate about his faith and his love for the Lord. His hobbies included singing, running and riding bicycles. Taking care of his mother Lupe and spending time with her brought him joy. He also loved children and helping them fix their bicycles. Marlo will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Those left to cherish Marlo’s memory are wife Cindy Galvan, of Roswell; daughter Naomi Galvan, of Roswell; mother Lupe Mendez, of Roswell; brothers, Ernie Galvan, of Oxnard, Calif., Dennis Galvan, of Oxnard, and Bennie Galvan, of Albuquerque; sisters, Anna Covarubias, of Oxnard, Alma Perez and her husband Leo, of Broken Arrow, Okla., Carolina Mendez and her husband Rudy, of Roswell, and Benita Almeda and her husband Aurelio of Roswell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Marlo in death were father Daniel Galvan; stepfather Salvador Mendez; and maternal grandparents Margaret and Henry Provencio.
A service honoring Marlo will be held at 6 p.m., Sunday, June 24, 2012, at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Snow officiating.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ernie Galvan, Bennie Galvan, Paul Galvan, Dennis Galvan and Albert Adam.
