2 dead in rollover accident in Las Cruces

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Authorities say two people have died after fatal rollover accident in Las Cruces.

New Mexico State Police say a man and a woman were killed Tuesday [auth] when their vehicle appeared to lose a tire while traveling southbound on Interstate 25.

KVIA-TV says two others, possibly children, were airlifted to University Medical Center in El Paso, Texas.

Police say another passenger was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance.

A state police spokesman says four of the five passengers were ejected from the car after it hit a mile marker sign and rolled.

Authorities have not released the names or ages of any of the passengers.

The accident is under investigation.
