Victim stabbed; 18 pieces of aluminum stolen

Police were dispatched to the 300 block of East Hervey Street, Wednesday. One person reported two shots had been fired. Witnesses stated that a black sedan arrived at the scene. Three men got out and a fight ensued where the victim was stabbed. The victim refused to press charges.


Police were dispatched to the Eastern New Mexico State Fairgrounds, 2500 S.E. Main St., Wednesday, after thieves removed 18 pieces of aluminum from the bleachers and a refrigeration unit. The [auth] items were valued at $1,200. This was the third such incident at the Fairgrounds in a month’s time. On May 30, $10,000 worth of copper and electrical wire were taken from the north side of the arena. On May 21, the ENMF was hit where subjects removed all the copper from a cooling unit outside a trailer and then entered the trailer to strip copper from inside. They also removed parts from a window air conditioner and took all copper.


•Police were called to the 1000 block of South Lea Avenue, Wednesday, after a subject or subjects entered a shed and removed a window air conditioner, a Crescent brand bass guitar, a left-hand bass guitar, wiring, a tuner and a Fender brand Star Caster guitar.

•Police responded to the 1500 block of West First Street, where several firearms were stolen.

Criminal Damage

•Police took two reports of criminal damage, Wednesday, after windows were shot out in two residences in the 1500 block of North Pontiac Avenue. One victim reported damages of $300. The second reported $500 in damages.

•Police were dispatched to the Pasta Cafe, 1208 N. Main St., Wednesday, where seven light fixtures were destroyed and 15 to 20 lightbulbs taken. Losses were estimated at $730.
