Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at South Park Cemetery, for James Harold Ferrell, age 86, of Roswell, who passed away June 8, 2012. Rev. Bob Williams of First Presbyterian Church will officiate.
Harold was born June 7, 1926, in Glen Alum, W.Va., to Willie and Ava Ferrell. Both parents have preceded him in death.
Harold married Helen Gallaher on July 21, 1951, in Huntington, W.Va. She survives him at the family home.
Other survivors include sons, Mark Edward Ferrell and his wife Catherine of Stafford, Va., and John Andrew Ferrell of Albuquerque; brothers, Denver Ferrell of Knoxville, Tenn. and Michael Ferrell of Columbus, Ohio; three grandchildren, Georgia Ferrell of Stafford, Va., Trisha Steiniger of Fredericksburg, Va., and Sierra Ferrell of Sarasota, Fla.; and one great-grandchild, Noah Ferrell.
Harold worked as a salesman at Roswell Livestock and Farm Supply. He previously worked at Whites and Valley Chevrolet. He was a deacon at the First Presbyterian Church. He was also past treasurer for the local American Legion. Harold served in the United States Navy during World War II. He also earned a bachelor’s in geology from Marshall University, in Huntington, W.Va.
