Thieves hit Stripes for booze and butts

•The police were dispatched to Stripes, 2010 S.E. Main St., Thursday, where two male subjects entered the building and removed $114 worth of cigarettes and alcohol. Repair costs for three damaged windows were estimated at $1,600.

•Police were dispatched to the 400 block of West Albuquerque Street, Wednesday, after someone gained access into a residence by forcing a door, and stole a television, a dresser, an entertainment center and miscellaneous tools. The missing [auth] items were valued at $1,000.

•Police were called to the 3300 block of Futura Drive, Wednesday. The victim reported that $3,200 worth of items including jewelry and a guitar amplifier, were missing from the residence.

•Police were dispatched to Dollar General, 1012 S. Main St., Wednesday, after a male subject entered the store carrying a grey bag and took items totaling $98, placed them in the bag, and left the store without paying. A clerk followed him. The subject threatened to sue. The bag broke. The subject hit the clerk and fled the scene.

•Police responded to the Roswell Regional Airport, Wednesday, where subjects broke a double-pane window to gain access to the building and removed copper tubing. Repairs to the window were estimated at $700. The copper tubing, along with the repairs, was valued at $2,000.


Police received a call from Century Link, Wednesday, after the company received reports of repairs needed in the 1400 block of West Hendricks.

The company discovered lines cut and copper taken from the repeater housing. The copper and subsequent repairs were estimated at $3,000.
