Police Blotter: Police investigate firearm use; copper is taken, now from two local businesses

•Police received a report of unknown trouble in the 800 block of West 12th Street, Sunday. The victim told officials about a man with a gun. When officers arrived at the scene, the vehicle had left the area. The vehicle was stopped shortly after. A search revealed no gun in the vehicle; however, the firearm was located later in the street. Officials recognized one of the occupants of the vehicle as a convicted felon. The investigation is continuing.
•Police responded to a call about shots fired at the intersection of Mulberry Avenue and Bland Street, Sunday. The officer located nine 9mm shell casings on the [auth] street, but did not find any damages to the adjacent buildings.

•Police were dispatched to Plateau Wireless, 1001 S. Main St., Friday. A representative of the company reported that someone removed copper from an electrical junction box at the rear of the building.
•Police were called to Working Mothers Day Nursery, 500 E. Bland St., Sunday, where subjects cut through the fence and stole a spool of copper wire.

Criminal damage
Police were called to the 800 block of West Hendricks Street, Friday, after subjects broke the front windows to a residence and removed the cabinets from the walls.

•Police responded to Bejing Express, 1800 S. Main St., Sunday, where a burglar forced open a small window and removed a large amount of money from the office and the cash register and stole the owner’s wallet.
•Police were dispatched to the 600 block of South Adams Drive, Friday, where someone pried open the passenger door to a vehicle causing $400 worth of damage. The subject took a Sony stereo, three iPod touch screens, two MP3 players, Reebok pump cleats, Nike football gloves, a wallet and two CD cases along with CDs. The losses were estimated at $735.
•Police received a walk-in report of a burglary on West Tilden Street, Sunday. The victim stated that someone stole a white/grey Chenille ladies bag, two Pioneer speakers and a Pioneer amplifier. The items were valued at $650.
•Police were called to the 900 block of West Summit Street, Thursday, after a subject gained access to a residence by forcing a back door. A TV/VCR combination of unknown make, a vacuum, an L.G. air conditioner, a blow dryer and an Emerson VCR/DVR were reported stolen.
