A rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Ballard Chapel for Joseph B. Rollwitz, 77, who passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012, in Durango, Colo. A Mass is scheduled for 11:30 a.m., Thursday, June 7, 2012, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Rev. Charlie Martinez officiating. Joseph [auth] will be cremated according to his wishes and will be interred at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Denver with his first wife.
Joseph was born May 4, 1935, in Rowena, Texas, to Gerhard and Marcella Jurek Rollwitz. His parents preceded him in death.
Joseph is survived by his son, Douglas Rollwitz, from Maryland; his daughter, Lesleigh Keetch of Colorado; two sisters, Helen Pinon of Missouri and Mary Menges of Mississippi; three grandchildren and six nieces and nephews.
Joseph attended St. Peter’s Catholic School and was in the first graduating class. He lived in Denver for 30 years and moved back to Roswell in 2001. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He was a retired system analyst from the aerospace industry.
