•Police were dispatched to the Western Inn, 2331 N. Main St., after a customer stole a 42-inch Sanyo LCD flat-screen television, valued at $550. The hotel attempted to add the charges to the credit card provided by the subject and it was refused. Total losses including room charge were $600.
•Police were called to the Eastern New Mexico Fairgrounds, 2500 S.E. Main St., Monday, where subjects removed all the copper from a cooling unit outside a trailer. They then entered the trailer where they stripped all the copper. The subjects broke the hasp off a second trailer, removed parts from a window air conditioner and then stripped the unit of copper.
•Police responded to an incident at the intersection of Third and Main streets, Monday. The victim stated a young man in a big blue car approached him and pepper-sprayed him. A second motorist stopped to help the victim. The Roswell Fire Department were called and provided water to flush his eyes. The victim refused medical treatment.
•Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of Beloit Street, Monday, to take a report of battery. The victim said two female subjects attacked her in the 600 block of South Wyoming Avenue, using fists and brass knuckles.
Police received a report of fraud, Monday. The victim told officials she received a call from an individual who claimed to represent Progressive Beauty Products who said she had to send a $250 money order within two days or she would be reported to the police. The victim offered to send a check or pay by credit card, but was refused. The victim contacted Progressive Beauty Products. The company spokesperson denied the individual represented the company and asked her to report the incident to the police.
