Kathy Lee Ferrell was born June 14, 1954. She lived in Roswell with her boys (cats), Benny and Andy. Kathy went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, May 19, 2012, after a long battle with a disease that was incurable here on Earth. She passed away peacefully at home.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Washington Avenue Fellowship Church, 1400 N. Washington Ave., with the Rev. Randy Reeves officiating.
Kathy was orphaned at an early age and raised in [auth] orphanages and foster homes. Although she had a very hard childhood, she always had a loving heart and sweet smile.
Kathy is survived by her adopted mother, Mary Woods, who was her friend for many years; her caregiver, Jess Lopez, whom she loved very much; close friends, Robert Odell, Sandra Moore, Sherry Voglar, and many, many others as Kathy was easy to love.
A special thank you to the staffs at Agape Home Care, Alianza, and the nurses and staff and Vista Care for taking such good care of Kathy.
Please take a moment to share your thoughts and memories in the online register book at andersonbethany.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory.
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free,
I’m following the path God laid for me,
I took his hand when I heard him call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
to laugh, to love, to work or play,
tasks left undone must stay that way,
I found that peace at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void,
then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
all these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish for you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I’ve savored much,
good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all to brief,
don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
God wanted me now.
