Customer Mark Casados says he was having breakfast with his friend Saturday morning when the glass shattered. Casados says they were lucky not to have been hurt.

Deputy police chief Kevin Purtymun tells the Los Alamos Monitor ( ) the driver apparently hit the gas instead of the brake, or his foot slipped from one pedal to the other.

He says the driver wasn’t cited because the accident happened on private property. The man was treated at the scene and drove home on his own.

The sedan bent the metal frame holding three large windows. One pane shattered and the other two were broken.
