Parents arrested after kids test positive for meth

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Las Cruces police say two adults have been arrested after their children tested positive for methamphetamine.

Police say 27-year-old [auth] Mical L. Culpepper and 25-year-old Bertha Alicia Ocon were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of negligent child abuse.

On Feb. 9, Las Cruces police served a search warrant on the couple’s residence and police say they found evidence that drugs were present.

The couple’s children have been living with relatives since last week. Culpepper and Ocon are being held at the Dona Ana County Detention Center.
