LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Las Cruces police say a man is dead after a rollover accident that may be connected to gunshots that were reported in the area just before the crash.

[auth] The name of the 31-year-old man who died late Saturday hasn’t been released.

Police spokesman Dan Trujillo says in a statement that the man was driving the wrong way on a one-way street when his vehicle hit a parked car and rolled over and through a fence.

Police are investigating whether a shots-fired call in the area just before the 10:30 p.m. crash on May Avenue was related. They are asking anyone with information to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or send a tip via text message to LCTIPS.
