Prisoner escapes from Curry Co. jail in Clovis

CLOVIS, N.M. (AP) — A prisoner being held for [auth] aggravated assault and other charges has escaped from the Curry County Detention Center in Clovis.

The Curry County Sheriff’s Office says in a news release that 35-year-old Narcizo Soto, Jr., escaped from the jail early Sunday morning. He was wearing a white T-shirt, orange jail-issue pants and black athletic shoes.

Soto is described as a 5-foot, 6-inch-tall Hispanic male, about 175 pounds, with brown and grey hair, grey mustache and goatee and brown eyes. He has scars on his abdomen and on a left finger.

The sheriff’s office considers Soto to be dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Curry County Sheriff or Clovis police.
