German rifle stolen

Police were called to the 2300 block of North Garden Avenue, Monday, after someone gained entry into a residence and removed a German Mauser Model 1980 8 mm rifle and a cell phone charger. Losses were estimated at $440.

Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of South Madison Avenue, Monday, where a LG 54-inch color television, valued at $1,500, and an [auth] Acer laptop worth $450 were reported stolen.

Police were called to the 300 block of East Poe Street, Monday. The victims said that they had moved most of their possessions into the home and when they returned they discovered the door had been forced open and the house searched. Among the items reported missing were a HP Photosmart digital camera, a stereo, a Black and Decker drill, an Xbox 360, a Wii game system and a CPAP machine.


Police responded to a call from Farmers Country Market, 800 W. Hobbs St., Monday, after an individual cashed a Social Security check for $674. An employee stated that payment for the check was refused since the payee had passed away in September.


Police were dispatched to the city of Roswell’s landfill, 3006 W. Brasher Road, Monday, where subjects cut the fence into the facility and stole scrap metal.
