Vehicle burglary reported

A vehicle was burglarized in a busy intersection at Union Avenue and Fourth Street, Sunday, after the driver left it because of car problems. The victim reported that the tires were slashed, the stereo removed and a wallet stolen.

Shots fired

Police confiscated an air rifle from a man, who was riding a bike, along the [auth] 1100 block of North Garden Avenue, Sunday. The man was described as being intoxicated. It was placed in the police evidence room and the man was told that he could pick it up when he was sober.

The man stated that he was unaware there were laws prohibiting discharging a BB gun inside the city limits.


Police were dispatched to the 400 block of South Chamisal Avenue, Saturday, after subjects cut a lock on a side door to a trailer. The subjects brought in a five gallon can of gasoline and attempted to burn the building down. About $1,500 worth of insulation was destroyed in the incident. The Roswell Fire Department is investigating.


Police were called to Roswell Hyundai, 1909 W. Second St., Sunday, where three male subjects were seen spray painting the side of the building.
