Fire hydrant found in truck

Police were sent to Walmart, 4500 N. Main St., Saturday, after a customer emerged from [auth] the store to find a fire hydrant in the bed of his pickup. Officers believe the hydrant may be from the corner of McGaffey Street and Kentucky Avenue. The hydrant was struck previously during a vehicle accident and was missing from the intersection.

Criminal damage

Police were dispatched to Roswell Alien Corner, 124 N. Main St., Saturday, where the glass window had been shot by what police believe to be a BB gun. Cost of repairs is estimated at $700.


Police were called to Stripes, 1217 E. Second St., around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday. Officers found the glass in the front door broken and the door frame damaged. The surveillance video revealed a male subject, who took two 18-pack boxes of beer and then left the scene.

Stripes plans to press burglary charges against the subject.

• Police were dispatched to the 800 block of Vista Parkway, Sunday, where subjects not only stole a vehicle, but burglarized a residence, removing $17,060 worth of jewelry, computers and other electronics, and cash.

• Police were dispatched to the 500 block of East Cherry Street, Saturday, following a burglary. The victim reported that a 62-inch Mitsubishi flatscreen television, two 32-inch Vizio televisions, a Nintendo Wii game console, two Sony DVD players, three jewelry boxes, three glass vases, miscellanious clothing, four pictues with frames, three fish figurines and a plastic lamp were stolen. Estimated value of missing items is $5,860.
