Several arsons reported
Police were called to the 600 block of East Matthews Street, Friday, for a suspected case of arson. The residence was vacant and appeared abandoned. No estimate of damages was noted in the police records. The fire marshal will be investigating.
•Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of East First Street. Thursday. The person reporting the incident said [auth] she came across a man setting fire to branches and shrubs placed in the alley for collection. When she asked him what he was doing, he ran away.

Police were called to the 1400 block of West Alameda Street, Thursday, to take a report of battery and robbery. The incident took place in the 600 block of South Pennsylvania Avenue on Tuesday. The victim stated that two men pushed him down and stole a silver necklace with a cross and a silver bracelet. The items were valued at $450.

Negligent use of a firearm
Police went to Hondo Ball Park, 2500 S. Sunset Ave., around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, where during a little league game a female subject got into an argument with a family member, pulled a gun and discharged the weapon. No one was injured in the incident and the woman was arrested for negligent use of a firearm.
