SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — You won’t be able to miss this pooch. A huge, metal dog is about to be erected in a Santa Fe park. Yard Dog, is a 1,200 pound, 20-foot-long, 12-foot-high, 6-foot-wide corrugated sheet-metal sculpture that will be installed Friday at Santa Fe’s Railyard Park.
The Santa Fe New Mexican (http://bit.ly/qQxsGp ) reports the big doggie is the first piece of art to be installed as part of an artist-loan program aimed at displaying contemporary art in Railyard Park.
Footings were dug and the concrete was poured earlier this week so that the sculpture can be bolted to the ground on Friday.
