ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A former Quay County corrections officer has been sentenced to more than eight years in [auth] federal prison in a child pornography case.

Prosecutors say 42-year-old Stephen Hensley was sentenced Thursday in federal court in Albuquerque. The Tucumari resident was given a 97-month prison term plus 20 years of supervised release. He also must register as a sex offender after he gets out of prison.

New Mexico State Police say they began investigating Hensley in January 2010 for allegedly sharing child porn pictures and videos via his home computer. At the time, Hensley was a corrections officer at the Quay County Detention Facility.

His home was searched and his computer seized. Prosecutors say Hensley was indicted in December 2010 and pleaded guilty four months later to the receipt of child pornography.
