Carlsbad man arraigned on child porn charges

CARLSBAD, N.M. (AP) — A Carlsbad man has been arraigned in federal court in Las Cruces on a charge of possession of child pornography.

Theodore Robert Larsen is charged with possession of a [auth] film, image, computer disc and other material containing images of child pornography.

The Carlsbad Current Argus (http://bit.ly/qIXxy0 ) reports the 32-year-old Larsen allegedly committed the offense in January 2011 in Eddy County.

According to information from the office of U.S. Attorney Kenneth J. Gonzales, the charges against Larsen were based on an investigation by U.S. Homeland Security Investigations.

The defendant was arrested in Carlsbad on Sept. 9 with the help of local police.

Larsen pleaded not guilty Monday and was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond to the custody of his father.
