BLOOMFIELD, N.M. (AP) — Bloomfield police detectives are investig ating the death of a 7-month-old boy who was an apparent victim of suffocation.
Bentley Begay was pronounced dead at San Juan Regional Medical Center after police and medics responded early Tuesday to a residence.
Although the child suffocated, Farmington police Lt. Marlyn Wyatt tells the Daily-Times (http://bit.ly/pOBCn3 ) police do not suspect foul play, but are waiting for autopsy results.
Wyatt says they found nothing in the house that would lead them to think there was any foul play involved. Police are also waiting for blood tests conducted on the boy’s mother.
