[auth] The arrest is the result of two search warrants executed on Aug. 26, for addresses on the 400 block of East Deming Street and the 300 block of South Richardson Avenue. The searches yielded items from four separate burglaries in Roswell.

Investigators Detective Keith Rightsell and Detective Albert Aldana, of property crimes, obtained an arrest warrant, Thursday. It was issued to Lerma at Chaves County Detention Center where he is being held on separate charges of failure to appear for a hearing after pleading guilty to larceny.

At a residence on Richardson Avenue, investigators found a Kindle and a VAIO laptop computer reported stolen from an Aug. 18 burglary.

At the Deming Street address, officials recovered numerous pieces of jewelry. Rightsell contacted other victims of recent burglaries who came and identified some of the pieces of jewelry as those removed from their homes.

Rightsell said Lerma was working with an unnamed accomplice and other warrants will be forthcoming.
