Thief swipes battery from cargo truck
Police were called to Sears, 1000 S. Main St., Friday, where a battery valued at $250 was stolen from a cargo truck.

•Police responded to Eastern New Mexico Medical Center, 405 W. Country Club Road, Friday, to take a report of battery. The victim stated that he was [auth] attacked by three men at the softball fields at 1800 N. Garden Ave. His assailants knocked him down to the ground, hit and kicked him.
•A family dispute turned lethal, Thursday. The police were dispatched to the 400 block of South Cedar Avenue, after a man threw a flat-head screwdriver at his spouse’s head and punctured her through her lip.

Criminal damage
Police were called to Caminito Drive, Thursday, after someone gained access to a vacant house and poked holes in the walls, broke the south-facing door and removed a medicine chest from a wall. Damage repairs were estimated at $500.

Police responded to an alarm call in the 1100 block of South Washington Avenue, Thursday. The victim reported that subjects took a Titan 440I airless paint sprayer, worth $500.
