Parking lot burglaries reported
â€¢Police were dispatched to K-Mart, 1705 S. Main St., Sunday, after a person returned to her vehicle and found someone had rifled through her glove box. Loss prevention officers checked surveillance footage and saw a Nissan Maxima with New Mexico plates JSF325 leaving the scene. Investigation revealed pry marks where attempts were made to remove the stereo.
â€¢Police were called to the mall parking lot at 4501 N. Main St., twice on Sunday, where subject(s) used something to smash both the windshield and the driverâ€™s door window to gain entry in a vehicle and remove an 8 GB iPod Touch, valued at $300. Damages are estimated at $500. In the second incident, a visitor from Clovis reported a subject or subjects stole two suitcases, miscellaneous clothing, prescription medication and Precision glucose meter. Total losses are estimated at $290.
â€¢Police were dispatched to Farmers Market, 800 W. Hobbs St., Sunday, where a wallet had been removed from a vehicle.
Larceny / battery
Police were called to the 300 block of South Poe Street, Saturday. The victim reported that she saw a male subject trying to pull her dog from the yard by its collar. When she objected, the subject struck her twice in the face. A neighbor intervened and chased the subject away. Officials noted a swollen area on the right side of her face and a cut on her lower lip.
â€¢Police were dispatched to the Mesa Verde Apartments, 502 S. Wyoming, Sunday, after the victim found not one, but two vehicles missing from the parking lot — a 2008 GMC Acadia and a 2003 Dodge 1500 truck.
