Jeanette Marilyn Thompson passed away, July 14, 2011, at Sunset Villa Nursing Home after a long battle with lung cancer. She was a resident of Roswell off and on over the years.

Jeanette worked as a Registered CNA at several of the local nursing homes around town. She was born January 13, 1942, in Hereford, Texas, to Thomas and Myrtle Martin and married Dondle [auth] Rhea Thompson on March 3, 1959, in Wichita Falls, Texas, at the Bridwell Ranch.

Don Thompson preceded her in death in 1989. They had four children, Jimmy Thompson and Rheadonna Thompson of Roswell, David Thompson of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Elva Mitchell of Roswell who passed away March of 2008.

Jeanette is survived by six grandchildren, Justin Thompson, Kyle Thompson, Ryan Nieto, Rhealynn Jackson, Rhachel Jackson, all of Roswell, Jessica Bell of Las Vegas, Nev. Along with her grandchildren she also had eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Jeanette had eight siblings.

She is survived by Joe Martin of Knoxville, Tenn, and Merion Martin of Lancaster, Pa. Preceded in death by both parents, along with four brothers and two sisters.

The brothers were Earnest, Morris, Derl, and Norman Martin. The sisters were Billy Norris and Mable Digby. All who knew and loved Jeanette will miss her greatly including her constant companion for the last 20 years, her beloved cat Tina. Great thanks to everyone who has called, sent flowers, and was there to help her family through this emotional time. God Bless You!
