Malva Elaine Lipe

On June 18, 2011, God called Malva Elaine Lipe home. She was 91 years old. Malva Elaine passed away in Roswell. She had lived in Roswell for almost 10 years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband C.C. Lipe on March 6, 2008.

They had been married for 70 years. Their home had been in Killeen, Texas, where they had family and many friends. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother who devoted her life to helping others. She and her husband were faithful Church of [auth] Christ members who encouraged and helped others. They helped many people during their lives.

For many years she enjoyed making clothes for her grandchildren. She also cross-stitched Christmas ornaments for all family members for many years. These ornaments and many wonderful memories are cherished by her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Malva Elaine was born Aug. 27, 1919, in Vivian, La., to Robert Jess Butler and Virginia Palmer Butler. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, all three brothers, the brothers’ wives and oldest son James Everett Lipe. She is survived by her son Bob Lipe and his wife Elaine, of Roswell, daughter -in-law Gloria Lipe of Killeen, Texas, and foster daughter Bonnie Soileau, of Bridge City, Texas.

She had nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren are Brenda Gillespie, Connie Gummelt, Jimmy Lipe, Kevin Lipe, Kenny Lipe, Laurie Wagner, Katie Soileau, Kimberly Soileau and Krystal Soileau.

The family would like to give special thanks to Norma, Ruby and the many ladies from Community Home Health Care who helped care for her during the years she spent in Roswell. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 23, at Church of Christ in Killeen, for Malva Elaine, who God called home on Saturday at Casa Maria Health Care Center in Roswell.

Burial will follow in Killeen Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the Crawford Bowers Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 22. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ballard Funeral Home and Crematory. An online registry can be accessed at
