ENMMC Auxiliary awards scholarships

Eastern New Mexico Medical Center Auxiliary awarded scholarships to the followng students for the Summer 2011 semester: Christine Aragon, Tessa Deann Cockrell, Casey Carroll, James Daniels, Elsa Paez, and Mary Tomas. Students pursuing careers in any health care field and attending an accredited university may apply. Applicants must [auth] have a minimum accumulative GPA of a 3.0 and have completed at least one semester of college. These scholarships are available for applicants from Roswell or the surrounding communities. Scholarship applications for the Fall 2011 semester will be available August 1 in the Volunteer Services Department at ENMMC.
The Working Ranch Cowboys Foundation is pleased to award a $1,000 scholarship to Caitlin Hebbert of Roswell. WRCF aims to secure a bright future for the ranching industry by helping educate the leaders of tomorrow. This year $41,500 was awarded to 38 children or spouses of working ranch cowboys. Hebbert plans to attend West Texas A&M University in Canyon, majoring in animal science and pre-veterinary studies.
“I was born and have been raised my entire life on working cattle ranches in both Texas and New Mexico,” she wrote in her scholarship application. “My ultimate goal is to practice equine veterinary medicine in a primarily ranching community. I have always had and still maintain a strong passion for the ranch life and all things related to it.”
