â€¢Police were dispatched to the Valero, 3300 N. Main St., Sunday, after a man bought several items, paying for them with a counterfeit $100 bill. The subject received $72.65 in change. Photos were obtained from the surveillance video.
â€¢Police were called to Circle K, 3213 N. Main St., Saturday, where two ean came in to purchase miscellaneous items with a fake $100 bill. The payment was refused. The employee said one of the two subjects had L.A. tattooed on the back of his head.
â€¢An officer patrolling the Cinco de Mayo celebration at Cahoon Park, 1000 W. Fifth St., Sunday, saw the silhouette of a gun. He stopped the subject who denied having a gun on his person. The officer asked the subject to lift his shirt and found a .45 caliber Glock handgun in the manâ€™s belt. The subject stated that he had a conceal-carry permit, but was unable to produce it. The officer asked for a warrant on charges of unlawful carrying of a deadly weapon.
â€¢Police responded to two separate incidents of drive-by shootings on East Byrne Street, on Friday and Sunday, near the same location where April 16â€™s double homicide took place.
