Pfc. Antonio G. Stiggins supported Operation New Dawn when he died April 22, 2011, from injuries sustained in an IED blast while in an engagement with insurgents in Numaniyah, Iraq.
He was assigned to F Troop, 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Ft. Hood, Texas. He was born in Roswell, and had enlisted in January 2010 in Rio Rancho, his residence at that time. Stiggins received his basic training at Ft. Knox, Ky., as a Cavalry Scout.
