Lynn Stephens, 76, [auth] of Roswell, passed away Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011. Lynn was born Jan. 7, 1935, in Benjamin, Texas, the fifth of seven children to Fred and Maureen Stephens. Lynn married the love of his life, Patsy Nolan, on Nov. 15, 1954. They had six children, Freddie (Janet) Stephens of Tucson, Ariz., Mark Stephens of Roswell, Suzy Mansur (Dave) of Buffalo, Wyo., Cindy Ortega (Jim) of Douglas, Wyo., Keith Stephens (deceased), and Janie Newhard (Rande) of Greeley, Colo.
They have 22 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. They moved to Arizona in 1960 and he worked as a truck driver with various companies until they moved to Wyoming in 1975. He worked hard in the oilfield for many years.
In 1986, they returned to Safford, Ariz., to care for L ynnâ€™s aging parents for 11 years. L ynn and Pat retired in Roswell in 1997. Lynn was a loving husband and father. He was dedicated, caring and friendly to all those who knew him.
Lynn was preceded in death by his brothers, Ed, Royce and Robert; his son Keith; and his parents, Maureen and Fred Stephens. Services will be held April 27 at 10:30 a.m. at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory in Roswell.
