Betty Mayberry, 75, a resident of the Albuquerque area since 1991, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010. She is survived by her two daughters, Karen S. Ezell and husband, Wes, of Rio Rancho, N.M., and Donna J. Bohannan and husband, Ron, of Albuquerque, N.M.; three grandchildren, Keli Deanne Krueger of Rio Rancho, Derek R. Bohannan of Portland, Ore., and Brandon D. Bohannan of Albuquerque; sister, Beth Franklin of [auth] Dexter, N.M.; brother, Jim Mathews and wife, Rosemary, of Sonora, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 34 years, Dean Mayberry; her parents, Ray and Virgie Mathews; and brother Glen Mathews. She was born on Nov. 7, 1935, in Mundy, Texas, and moved with her family to New Mexico at the age of 7.
Betty married Dean at a young age in 1949 and they moved to Roswell in 1951 where they made their home and raised their daughters. Betty worked for Furrâ€™s Supermarket in Roswell for 27 years. After Deanâ€™s death and her retirement, Betty moved to the Albuquerque area to be with her daughters and their families.
She was very invested in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
